Started to bleed

Right, this might be a stupid question.

I'm breastfeeding so didn't expect to have a period until I stopped - is this true or just an old wives tale? Anyway, it's 4 weeks since I gave birth and the bleeding had more or less stopped. However, the past 2 days, there has been fresh, bright red blood. Not a lot but more than usual. I had a 2nd degree tear so had stitches but these should have healed by now I guess.

Is this normal?

OMG the exact same thing has happened to me hun. It has now become really quite heavy so I've got a Dr. appt this afternoon as apparently it can be a sign of infection?

My mum (former midwife!) thought it was most likely I've just overdone things a bit OR that it could be a period - but I'm still bf too so it seems unlikely?

I'll let you know what doctor says! x x x

Thanks. I thought it might be from overdoing it - but I'm moving house so packing needs to be done! I also had a few (TMI alert) bigger poos so don't know if they'd affected my stitches.

If it continues, I'll call my doc. Let me know what happens for you x

I found my bleed after the birth was very on and off... I would call ur dr if ur worried and ask them if it could be an infection or that u over did things... I just had my first period and George is 7 weeks but Im not bf xx

Well it seems the b1tch is back - it is Aunt Flo!! I can't believe she's reappeared so soon! Apparently it should calm down but if the next one is bad, he suggested the mini pill.
