only likes mummy and daddy

Hi every1 so my dilemma is that my 17week old daughter as started to dislike every1 except me and daddy she cries at the sight of any1 else even family she sticks out her bottom lip and cries if any1 comes near her,shes only been doing it for the past 3 weeks and im starting to get really concerned. i try to take her out most days and we go to mum's and toddlers regularly but she even cries through that. Shes never been a cuddly baby an she never clings to me. She's always with me or my hubby and my mum occaisionally babysits do you think she's got used to it being just the 3 of us and she'l grow out of it or is it maybe something else????? i just dont know what 2 do :cry: thanx for taking the time to read my post

    Hello hun, I think it could be a phase, I think most babies go through a stage where only mummy or daddy will do. I've always tried to keep my little boy (17 weeks to) as socialised as possible since he was born, being held by friends and family and spending time with others where possible, but lately he has gone through a small stage where he only wants to be with me, which I think comes from spending all our time together even when others are about.

    The only thing I can think of is to persevere with having time around others and letting her be held as much as possible by your family and friends, even if you stay right next to her to show her you've not gone anywhere and if things improve you could slowly build up being away from her for a few seconds and she can build her trust that others are as nice as mummy and daddy xxx

    I was hoping it was just a phase, il defo keep trying :\) we're having a photo shoot tmoz an I'm dreading it I just hope she doesn't start screaming as soon as she sees the photographer that could make for some interesting piccies lol thanx for ur advice. Wish me luck

    How did the photo shoot go hun? Did she go supersonic? (what we call it when the baby cries so high you feel like your brain popped lol) xxx

    Hi Hun soz took so long to reply i dint realise you'd replied and i've been really busy with work/housework and general mum duty's lol the photoshoot went great no tears plenty of smiles she had her blanky with her so think that helped :\) im guessing we've turned a corner what a relief. thanx for your reply :\)

    Oh thats brilliant! No worries about the reply, I don't always check all the threads I've written on, people could have asked me many a question I've never replied to lol

    Mums duty, yep, think that pretty much fills most days image xxx
