Pregnant but on the pill

Hi. I'm really confused and in fact really scared also. I have been feeling unwell even had sore breasts ect for 2 weeks or so. I was on the pill still am infact. I took a test today where it showed positive. How can I be pregnant while I was on birth control. I'm 25 scared as hell. My family are Catholic very stick how will i even tell them.
