doula

has anyone considered/or has already used the services of a doula?

ive just been reading about it and i think it would be great to become one. i also read there are only 31 in scotland and they can cost around ??400, so it might be a good thing to get into.

it seems you go on a course which costs around ??200 and then join the asociation and then can work as a doula.

i think id love that, as id ultimately love to be a midwife but wouldnt go through all the training while my kids are young.

it would be great to give someone the encouragment they need, as sometimes their partners/friends havent given birth themselves, and as a doula you have to have had children and know what its really like.
