Because as the day progresses and you drink more your urine becomes more diluted. If you are testing early you will get best results with first morning urine and it is highly concentrated.

My period was due on the 15th, but I have an inregular cycle so I don't know
but both tests were 30 minutes apart
i might take another test on Friday and see if the lines go darker
