Buying for Baby?

Hello,

Just looking at the (very helpful) thread on the baby forum ???????your biggest waste of money??????? and I realise that I haven't bought a single thing!
Despite having no reason to be, I am just so nervous about buying baby things, I kind of feel like I am jinxing myself. I just feel so uncomfortable buying for my bambino when it isn't actually here yet, like I am inviting bad luck or something. Does anyone else feel like this?
Usually I am a complete shopaholic and would be completely organised (got in some serious training with planning our wedding last year!) and I think that this is the only time in my life when I can't bring myself to make a purchase. I am also not usually overly surperstious, but I can't seem to get over this.
I am 27+1 today so I know I need to get a move on, and I am starting to panic!

  • hi i wouldnt worry, im sure at 27 weeks you are well able to go shopping for things without worrying. you are well past the "danger zone". i know exactly how you feel tho and was exactly the same with my first (altho we were buying stuff at 8 weeks this time). just try to enjoy it, buying things for baby makes it so much more real and is so much fun!!!!

nothing bad is gonna happne just cause you bought baby stuff honestly. x

  • I'm sure everything is fine now - I would start shopping before you get too tired near the end - I've got the majority of bits done now. Could you get the shop to hold onto the big bits like cot / pushchair until nearer the time or keep it at a family member's house? Also shopping early for us spread the cost out a bit as not such a shock. Enjoy shopping hun!
