Some of you may remember that i said i was all for second hand stuff and that i would be using ebay & car boot sales.

- i have also got 5 storage boxes full of clothes that will do my baby boy up to 12 months and they cost me roughly about ??30 - all from car boot sale.

The thing is you have to be picky on what you buy as some of the stuff is crap but if you like the seller and you tend to find a few each week who have taken care of their things.
I dont mind buying my baby new things but i now have 3 prams, one to be left at grannies in the city & for going on hiliday - bugaboo. (my parents live 160 miles away
the silver cross for use at our house as we live in the country and its going to be winter afterall when little Oliver arrives.
And the running pram so i can take him out when i start running again.

I have saved a fortune but i know some people feel a little weird about second hand things but just wanted to share with you what is avaible and how much you could save.

Wow you've done really well. We did a carboot this weekend and had wander round and got a few bits including coathangers for baby clothes which has been a nightmare to get and got 40 for ??1. Someone was selling a fisher price rainforest swing in the box for a tenner!!!
We bought the M&P one like you from Argos which is gorgeous.
Was like a mad woman in the John Lewis clearance on saturday and did a rampage in TK Maxx too. Got loads of stuff from OH's uncle and my friend too. Not everything has to cost the earth.

wow you have had some bargains,cant believe you have bought 3 prams and 2 slings tho lol!!
I'm all for saving money and have also bought quite alot from ebay,you seem very organised having all of this already and choosing a name 2 lol!
I think i now have everything but we have not yet chosen a name and my little man could come in 5 1/2 weeks lol! congratulations on your purchases,i love the buggaboos!

We already had the names picked out whether it be boy or girl so that was easy.
Thats the only thing with bargain shopping if you see it you have to buy it as the chances are it wont be there the next time. The prams are at my mums and mother in laws houses. and the other bits are in our spare room.
To be honest i was a bit worried about buying things too early but then if i leave it late ill most likely have to buy full priced stuff and i really dont want to have to go to car boots once im a bit bigger as i think i will struggle.

Brilliant work...especially on the silver cross pram.
My MIL is buying me a silver cross pram, but i have just scored a mothercare three wheeler for ??60 which is the one that will be taken to Australia when i take the baby. Its is also the one that i will use for off road walks in the park.
I am also getting a mamas and papas cot bed and change table from SIL
Highchair and bouncer from other SIL.

I fact i think we may manage to get most things second hand.
Just a case of buying new linen and mattresses really.

Its fun seeing how much it chould cost new and then finding it cheaper.

But I am one of those people that couldnt buy second hand for baby - just worried about bugs and things. I am of course ok with second hand from people you know, like i have accepted alot from my sister.

thats fab - we have done that too. I realy liked the bebe confort loola pram, stroller, carseat but it was ??550 - we got one in fantastic condition for ??170. I got a rolls Royce for the price of a fiesta!!!! I would much rather have the better quality but second hand.

Our baby bath was the one with the bath support in it from mama and papas - ??12 ebay - normally ??22.

In response to your breast pump thing - i would go for a second hand one - i want the medela swing (80) and currently watching for bargains. I will clena it thoroughly before use and can get it for about ??40.

I think it is even more exciting when you get a total bargain! x

Fab bargins! Do you mind me asking where you got your moses stand and basket from? Am on the look out one at the mo? And have you looked at any cots?

Suddenly ebay is my new best friend! I have always been a bit funny about buying stuff second hand but am now a convert. Got all my maternity clothes from ebay. I just can't help feeling that things are a bit overpriced in the shops and you can pick up some really decent stuff secondhand.

We were going to get our pram off ebay but then my SIL said we can have hers and I got the Argos swing as well. I'm loving my new bargin queen phase (hubby is also liking it to!)

I totally agree we went mad 1st time round my brand this and that and spending a fortune!!

This time round we were expecting to be able to use everything from last time but since finding out its twins we haven't had the luxery so decided to look out for deals!

We bought our pram and icandy pear from ebay 2nd hand for ??360 was only 2 months old and barely used which saved us a fortune as they are nearly ??600 in the shops!

Managed to get a maxi cosi car seat off of my sisters friend for free!

A friend of my BIL had a changing unit that they'd bought for there little one and a yr on didn't have the space so gave it to us for free and its fab!!!

Love all the bargain hunting and ebay is brilliant for it even if it is second hand most baby stuff is barely used and in fab condition!!!

Unfotunately hubby doesnt feel the same apparently everything will have to be brand new for our baby (we are not even pregnant yet) perhaps if i show him your bargains it may convince him! lol xxx

Thanks for that. I think there is one nearby - Clearance Bargins which is all ex Argos stuff. We have to pop over and have a look, we saw a couple of prams last time we went, but will look out for the moses baskets.

I'm like MrsKittyboo and can't bring myself to buy second hand. I just feel a bit squeamish not knowing what kind of person has been using things. Wish I could get over it though as I could have saved a fortune!

Hi im also one for a great bargin, so far we have got a moses basket and stand ??5 (includes new matress,and all the covers which are white and lovely!) and play gym ??3, well actually 2 but im giving one to a friend who is also pregnant and wants to save too! a electric sterilser, looks fansastic-??2, 2 brand new still boxed avent bottles, and todays top bargin was a tomy baby carrier for ??1 !!!! all this was from car boot, my mother in law has also brought so lovely baby clothes from the car boot too, also brought a bouncy chair for ??3 but my friend is giving me hers and i have also got the mamas and papas swing for ??34.99,lol
not bad for only being 13 weeks pregnant!! x
