    Not read all of this so apologies if someone's already suggested it but most travel cots have a bassinet part that kind of clips on to the top of the main cot frame for when babies are tiny. We bought a Graco one for about ??60 when DS was born, I had an emergency section so bending was out and the cot was a godsend. It's still going strong 4 years and two children later. IMO they're better value for money than a Moses basket. Both of ours were big babies and just never settled in the (borrowed thankfully!) baskets!

    cornetto - a pram would be ideal, but we ahve a huge flight of stairs outside our house!! The pram/buggy will live in the boots of our cars!!
