Single Mum

In a few months I will become a single mum. I can't change that, so I've decided not to be bitter. Which for the most part I tend to manage. I may have the occasional moment that I wish I could kill him but that usually passes within minutes lol. In truth, I feel sorry for him to be honest. I probably shouldn't, but I do.

I was just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation as me?

  • Not now as I'm happily married, but I had my 1st baby at 18, 2nd at 20 and was single until 8 years ago (boyfriends along the way but nothing really significant). It's really hard in some ways but the upside is that you get your lo all to yourself - you don't have to answer to anyone about how or why you're doing things - honestly in some ways I find it harder now I'm married and child rearing!!!

You'll be fine hon - you sound strong anyway, so keep that head on. Try to find some other single mums around you - SureStart etc will probably be able to point you in the right direction. As for feeling sorry for the ex, that's good because anger will get you nowhere - he'll still be useless at the end of the day so don't waste your much needed energy!

    Good luck hon

  • Thank you. Im sure il be fine, all i can do is my best and he is a waste of space anyway. It makes me giggle. He is telling me that I am immature etc, when he is almost 30 and is still managing to avoid the situation.
