I found my lo easier by:

    1. Lying flat with legs straight.
    2. Find top of pubic bone and put doppler there and point downwards.
    3. Full bladder might help to push up uterus.
    4. Take your time.
    5. Move doppler slowly around bit at a time.
    6. Get up, or turn over or just move around to see if that moves lo around enough for you to hear.
7.Try again in a few minutes if you can't her lo.

Placenta is a definate whooshing sound.

Movements sound like whooshes or blooping noises.

Listen to your own heartbeat to tell the difference before you start...there really should be no mistaking. Yours will be louder and slower and a definate du-dum sound.
