Special care babies require in Summer

Your little ones may like to splash water around in the summers, but they require special care during the hot climate. Babies are delicate and tend to get overheated which makes their cheeks became all blush and red this may be cute, but we must be careful that this hot climate doesn’t lead to dehydration or food poisoning for the little one. Here are some tips to get you through the hot weather.

Stay away for direct sun: Babies skin is very delicate and can’t handle the sun very well. It is best that babies are not exposed to the harsh sun, also too much sun and heat can cause sun burns which can be very painful.

Avoid dehydration: Babies can’t figure out when they are thirsty, but as a parent we need to keep a track of their water intake. Less water intake can cause serious issues related to dehydration.

Steer clear of Hot Spots: Places tend to get hot under the sun and if the baby is kept directly in these spots it can prove to be harmful. These spots are some time so hot that they can lead a baby to have a heat stroke. So before placing the baby in a car seat or stroller it better check that the spot is not too hot.

Cooling Baths: Bathing your baby and letting them play in the water for a while is a great way to beat the heat. Also, if you choose to go swimming try to go to indoor pools as then you won’t be concerned about the heat.

Food Storage:  In hot weather it is possible that the stored food may get spoiled, so it is advisable to used baby food from the market which is ready to consume. Some of the baby food brands you can check out are Happa, Hipp organics, Ella’s kitchen, Plum organics etc.
