Itchy down there

I am experiencing itching down there from time to time- sometimes more sometimes less. There is no unusual discharge or any smells. Has anyone else had this? What is it? And most importantly- will it subside on its own?

    I should add that I am only day 3 of when my period was supposed to have started. So I am waiting a few more days before I do a pregnancy test.
