Speech delay

i need to find someone with similar experience or someone in the same position as us.

we have a 3&1/2 year old boy and he has a quite dramatic speech delay he is under a Sen I at nursery and is making improvements. However with next September being his first year at primary I am getting more and more anxious that he will be so behind which may in turn hinder him making friends.

Speech therapy appointments are very mimimal as I am being told I am doing everything right.

any advice would be great. Thank you in advance.x

  • If you have had an assessment by a qualified speech language therapist but you are still concerned it may not hurt to get a second opinion.  In my experience parents know best.

Most often when a parent is concerned I'm concerned.
