Help with a Britax r type adapter

Does anyone know where I can buy a brtiax type r adapter? I have been give most of a teutonia y2k travel system but seem to be unable to find a car seat to go with it - google suggests a britax r type but the man at britax wouldn't help me as he doesn't agree with people using travel systems and said babies go straight from the carrycot bit to the stroller bit - is that true? Should I just get a seperate car seat? any ideas?
