undescended testicle :-(

Hi, 

My son whos nearly 12 months old has to have an operation in the new year to put his undescended testicle right, the though of him being put to sleep in my arms when he's so young and helpless is really getting to me.  Has anyone else been through this, how long was the recovery?

    My friends little boy had this.  He was a little older but recovered really quickly.  The only prob was that he had it done in the spring and wasn't allowed to play on his trike for quite a while after which annoyed him a bit.  He also wasn't allowed to be carried on his Dad's shoulders which he didn't like.

    Apart from these nuisance things he had no probs and was running around like crazy after a few days.

    Thanks Hun that sounds reassuring that he recovered quickly, I think I just worry as he's so young and the though of him being put to sleep which I know is for the best scares me.
