baby won't sleep

Used to have sleep deprived baby. Found shoulder bouncing by accident. Body can't cope anymore. Back to sleep deprived baby and parents. Tried and failed: Pram, car, rocking chair, swinging crib, self settling (disaster), singing, white noise, shhing. Have had same evening routine for 2 months. Daytimes I barely leave the house through exhaustion, so not due to strange environment. What now? Carry on killing my knees and back or let him scream. Screaming does not even get him to sleep.
