Hi Ladies!

I’m hoping someone can give me some help with my 9 month old sleeping!

His routine is as follows -

wakes between 5am / 5.30am (we have a cuddle in bed until 6am / 6.30am then go downstairs.

Bottle at 6.45am / 7am

Morning nap (I try and hold off until as close to 9am as I can) but anywhere between 8.30am / 9am and can be for an hour / 1.5 hours

lunch at 12pm

afternoon nap 1pm / 1.30pm again usually for an hour / 1.5 hours.

Bottle at 3pm

dinner and pudding at 4.45pm / 5pm

Bath at 6.15pm.

Bottle at 6.45pm / 7pm

bed at 7.30pm

How can I stop him waking so early at 5am? Am I doing something wrong during the day with naps etc? Not enough food / snacks?

Anyone in a similar position that can offer help please?

Thank you!! Xxx

  • The only thing I can see is maybe porridge in the morning? Does he usually have more breakfast than a bottle?
Also, have you tried giving his last bottle an hour later maybe? My little boy used to get up at 4am every morning and it killed me, with my baby girl who is nearly 8 months, we’re following a similar pattern to you but about an hour later.
how big is he? Could he still be a bit hungry?xxx
  • Hey!

I don’t think it’s hunger as he isn’t screaming for a bottle / breakfast when he wakes he just wants to play lol!

You’d said the only thing you could see was porridge - should I not be giving him porridge / breakfast?? Sorry I’ve just noticed I didn’t mention in my original post that I give him porridge 45 mins / hour after his bottle.

    So he gets a bottle at 6.45am / 7am and then porridge between 7.45am / 8am.

When I go to bed early I don’t mind so much as I feel okay in the he morning but I’d love it even if he woke at 6am lol!

  • Haha no it’s just because the porridge wasn’t in there. It’s a bit of a balancing act isn’t it. If he has gone to bed later, does he get up any later or is it the same? You just need another hour or so really don’t
