  • Since falling pregnant we appreciate how important good flooring is, we placed our kitchen with tiles easy to clean and easier to keep clean, our main living space, we discovered needed to be soft for delicate skins, but easy to maintain, a hard wearing carpet was best, so the Hoover was easy to push and not too hard, and needed a long pipe to get into the edges, with my bump in the way very hard.

  • Since having my two boys, who are now 9 and 10, my home has taken a bit of a bashing! I am still learning what works and what doesn't in terms of recommendations. The wipe-clean paint on the living-room walls isn't as wipe clean as was promised, and I would have been better off going for Dulux's ordinary range in my honest opinion. To get the most mileage out of my carpets, I can recommend cleaning them, buying a great rug to cover traffic areas, rotating the sofa and chairs around the room somewhat. Hillary's Roman blinds and Hillary's bathroom vinyl flooring that looks like wood have been really good purchases for relatively little expense in the scheme of things.

  • yes we redecorated the whole house to welcome our newborn, as we wanted a fresh start

  • Put down laminate flooring so easier to clean and mop up stains from little ones.  Locked alk medicines away in a cabinet put stairgates throughout.  Now children have flown the best would love some beautiful carpet as nothing beats the feel if carpet under your feet! Fab comp ♥️♥️

  • Old carpet in living room changed to new one.Rest of the home - laminate, was carpets mostly.Much easier to keep clean.

  • Carpets swapped for laminates not only for the new baby but for the dog too. We have also had the wipeable wallpaper put up.

  • i have laminate flooring in the living room with cosy rugs which are easier to replace than a ruined carpet!

  • As a foster mum I have changed my home several times in order to meet the needs of the young people that have stayed with us.  Some young people cannot cope with certain triggers or clutter, some need a very protective environment and some with limited physical ability have needed specialised equipment. I am therefore used to changing my home on a as needed basis and sometimes with very little warning and planning...

  • We removed all the carpets downstairs and replaced them with wood flooring.  We also moved all our ornaments to higher shelves!

  • We were in rented when mine was tiny, so we couldn't make any changes, other than the essential baby gates.  Then no cream carpets or rugs.  Unless you are disciplined in changing shoes to slippers, there is just no point.  They won't stay cream for long.  Hard flooring is easier to keep dust free, but it isn't as cosy feeling.  We've sanded pine floors, hard work, but I did love the result.  Noisy, but my daughter loved to stamp and dance on it.

  • I havent been able to afford to change anything significantly. I really would love to though.

  • imagewe switched the carpet in the hall & downstairs toliet for laminate. To make it easier for cleaning. Which has made things much quicker. It's also faster for using toy cars on. Added in baby gates at the top & bottom of the stairs.

  • I'm pregnant but so far we have bought lots of safey items for the house.  I'd like to get a utility room extended onto the house as I know there will be lots more washing etc so that will be a major change.

  • We've moved house three times since my child was born, so yes we have quite literally changed our home

  • I have opted for more child friendly home by having wipeable paint, carpets and more laminate flooring, leather sofas and plenty storage as children get messy and it just easier to keep clean and tidy

  • We had 2 huge bedrooms and when I fell pregnant with number 2 we decided to split the biggest bedroom to make it a 3 bed house. We have stair gates everywhere, we are going to change the carpet in the lounge to laminate so it's easy to clean. Also we have had to repaint the walls so many times that we've just painted them all magnolia and got rid of all the wallpaper as the kids kept ripping it off the walls.

  • We changed carpets to laminate when the kids were little, but we're changing back to carpets now they're older.

  • After having laminate old flooring we decide to change for carpets. This is warmer and safer for baby who just starting to walk. It's feel cosier to sit on carpet and play with toys. We have added extra storage cupboard for the toys and books. The walls are painted in warm colours and Pooh Bears stickers. Now room feels safer for child.I am very happy with results.

  • Well I have a hole in the wall where a stair gate destroyed it other than that I have mostly changed my little boys room twice so far. Firstly transport themed and currently working on the dinosaur. I have excessive amounts of storage all full. Anything not secured is not safe and I have discovered that my carpets don't do well with a young messy child.

  • We designed a nursery with neutral colours & animal themed wall art before our son was born. Since then we have had a house extension & 2 more children. So quite a lot of changes. Storage storage storage - is they key thing we have found useful with children.
