Car seat in front

Hello ladies (and gents)!

I was wondering what the ruling is on car seats which are forward facing are they safe enough to have in the front of a car with the airbag on? I know it's wrong to have a rear facing seat with an active airbag but wasn't sure about forward facing. The new car we have is a 2+2. Any advice would be gratefully received!!!!!!

    As far as I know you are not allowed an airbag active with any car seat, even forward facing. Could it be turned off?

    You can have a forward facing seat in the front with an airbag but you should push the seat as far back as possible. I checked because my dad wants to take my little girl out in his soft top!
