lubricants and ttc
Hi all,
A bit personal I know but... only today as Ive been reading various posts on here have I heard of this Preseed stuff. Am now a little concerned that Ive wasted 2 months of ttc using a small amount of an ordinary lubricant (KY) and have probably ruined my chances of a BFP!
As our first baby was a surprise I can't be sure we managed to get pg whilst using ordinary lube before or not - has anyone on here managed to get pg when using KY/an ordinary lubricant? Have I been wasting my time?![:\](https://forum.madeformums.com/resources/emoji/confused.png ":\")

Yes. Research has found that vaginal lubricants are toxic to sperm and interfere with the role of the cervical mucus.
Normally, the vagina's own acidic secretions kill sperm, but the alkalinity of the cervical mucus produced just before ovulation protects the sperm. Artificial lubricants prevent the sperm from reaching the cervical mucus quickly, so they die in the acidic environment of the vagina before getting inside the uterus. (There is one brand of lubricant on the market, called Pre-Seed, that is said to be designed not to damage sperm.)
