Ov sticks and pregnancy

This may be a stupid question...but just wondering, if you were pregnant (and didn't know) would this give you a positive on an ovulation test? I'm sure I read something about this a while a go but I'm not sure if I got it the right way round! I'm only asking because I've been doing ov sticks every day lately due to my irregular cycles and every so often I've been doing a pregnancy test just to make sure (even though every time I know deep down I'm not going to get BFP!) and I was thinking that if being pregnant would give a positive on an ov test then there's no point in doing a pregnancy test unless I suddenly got loads of positive ov tests for a few days in a row!
