What is "af" an acronym for?

Hi everyone,
I'm new to all this and realise I'm probably being incredibly dense, but what do the initials "af" stand for? I keep seeing them in messages...

I thought it might be. All these quirky euphenisms, "I've got the decorators in" etc, etc. Why don't people stop beating about the bush and just say, "I'm on a gusher, pass the jam rags, please"...
I'm quite genteel, really.

Hope that gives people lol (lots of laughs-I think) I'm just too old for text-speak,
