Cyst, how gross!

I've had a lump in my groin for over a year, as usual doctors have fobbed me off until now. It's a sebaceous cyst that's surrounded by loads of scar tissue- gross. It's being removed in the next 8 weeks and as it's only done under local, and in a very awkward place the dr said it will be very painful anyone had experiance of this? It's apparently the size of a small plum! Xxx
