Interesting read...

I was doing my usual round of reading the newspapers on line and found the following in the Sun:

The points 1-6 are from Zita West's Guide to Fertility and Assisted Conception: Essential Advice on Preparing Your Body for IVF and Other Fertility Treatments:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/woman/parenting/2925084/Baby-making-tips-for-Posh-n-Becs.html

I haven't started TTC yet but liked this point "In the meantime, get fit, drop any unhealthy habits and don't worry about fertility gizmos such as temperature charts or ovulation kits - these just make you anxious and obsessional, and that won't help your fertility at all."

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/woman/health/health/drkeithhopcroft/2746437/Dr-Keith-Getting-pregnant-isnt-just-about-sex.html

This one has a little quiz that you can do:

  • thank you ... its true they make me anxious but also give me something to look for and help me understand my body.
From the use of the OPK and charting, it made me feel good that i am ovulating, and on which day.
  • It's ok for them to say no opks etc but try not getting pregnant for over a year despite trying anything and being so desprete for a baby that you feel bits of your heart are dying with every bfn!

  • Plus zita west just plugs her own overpriced fertility clinic, multi vitamins and Chinese medication and acupuncture through out her books!!!
  • lol @ baby-princess! Bad day honey!

It isn't the best advice though!
More passion equals better quality sperm, and that's a fact.
For a man to have sex he has to have desire - higher desire means more testosterone and a greater quality of sperm.

What a load of crap! If that was true why would we have so many knocked-up teenagers!? Really!
  • I'm dreading the conversation with my doctor when I try to convince him that I know I have been ovulating as I've been temping, and that because hubby and I work strange hours we *have* to use "techniques"!! How can you just relax in case you miss the window of opportunity? He he I have woken up on the wrong side of bed this morningimage
  • Sorry Ladies,

Didn't mean to offend anyone by posting those articles. Like I said I haven't started TTC yet but I am hoping like I guess everyone does that it will happen naturally without having to work out when I am ovulating etc. I know for a fact my AF's will be irregular when I come off my pill (29th April).

Bless you baby-princess sorry for making you rant.

I think I will just let my body get used to coming off my pill and still BD as usual. If I don't fall in the first couple of months then I will start using OPK's.

Hope I am forgiven; didn't meant to upset anyone by those articles... xx

  • Well that is what I thought, someone might find it useful. I didn't realise doctors don't like OPK's etc. I have a lot to learn in this subject ha! Thanks Kaiti xx
