Spotting before AF

Hey ladies, just wondered if anyone else has this, its really starting to bug me.

My LP is only 10 days usually and since feb I have been spotting at least 5 days before AF arrives in full force. My main worry is that it doesn't seem to give me much time for implantation (should there be anything to implant of course).

If any of you have any advice I'd be extremely grateful. Its really starting to get me down :\?

  • Hi Tinkerbell

I had this (I was spotting from 7/8 dpo, with a luteal phase of 11/12 days) and I was prescribed progesterone - this is the hormone that keeps your uterus lining in place, and your body continues to produce it once you are PG.

I was given pessaries, which I used for the first time last months. They stopped the spotting but on the downside made my AF a week late. Haven't yet decided whether to use them this month.

The pessaries are also a bit messy - be warned!

    Good luck

  • Hi Tinkerbell & MrsD. This has been happening to me to for the last 3 months. It's usually only 2-3 days but it's really frustrating and as my cycle length seems to be decreasing as well I am also worried that I'm not having enough time for implantation. To be fair I have been to cheapskate with the OV sticks to monitor OV and luteal phase properly so am going to this month. I have read though that as long as your luteal phase is 10 days or more it's not a problem.
  • Thanks for the replies ladies, if it happens again this month I may go visit the GP xxx
