As far as I know it's supposed to help you produce better quality fertile cm, as well as generally balancing your hormones. You take 1500-3000mg a day. I always took it up til ov and then stopped but not sure of official guidelines on this.
I don't know if it was the EPO, the Agnus Castus or just nature that did the trick, but I got my BFP 3 months after I started taking it (hadn't been ttc prior to that).
Hiya! I took EPO for the last 2 months to help with my CM. It definitely made a difference and I stopped once I knew I'd ov. Now nearly 5 weeks pg! I'd say it's defenitely worth a try! Iz x
I think I might give EPO a try if I don't give my BFP this month. I've had cm and ewcm for the first 3 months off the pill but this last month I've had nothing.
I did buy some but wasn't sure of the dosage or when you're supposed to take it. The thing is mine says it's 500mg and to take one a day??? If I'm supposed to take 1500 or more then how can this be right????
Are you meant to take it from the start or the end of a.f until O? And if I have no idea when I O then should I stop in the middle of the month/when I notice ewcm etc??
Sorry to barge in with so many queries, hopefully I'll get a BFP this month and won't have to take it but doubt that as don't think I O'd.
What is epo? I feel when I ovulate so timing isnt the issue but my cm is not as ewish as it used to be(I'm 39!) and I'm wondering if its hostile to the sperm so anything that may help is worth a try if one of you can tell me? Thanks, Helen.
Helen, it's evening primrose oil. I bought the 1000mg capsules so need to take 2-3 a day, but you can get them in all sorts of doses (Porky, you'll need to take 3-6 a day)
i was taking 1000mg a day as i couldnt find any stronger stuff locally. i found it did make a huge difference to my cm. i took it from just after af til i had pos on opk.
tha only draw back i found was that i had a runny nose too, so it works on all mucus in your body not just where you need it
not sure if it has mad any difference with ttc yet though
this is month 3 but i know that we kind of missed ov (i was really ill month 1, we were out watching the rugby when i had ewcm so didnt have chance to bd til the day after on month 2) so technically month 1
Its definately worth a try. I started taking epo, (and agnus castus and black cohosh) at the end of last af. Noticed an effect on my cm. I stopped taking them the day b4 ov. I was also taking an iron/zinz/vitB tonic as was feeling generally run down. Still taking that as its ok to take during pg and breastfeeding. Im taking Sanatogen pro-natal and Sanatogen omega 3 too. Im veggie, so worried that I dont get enough omega 3 and iron anyway. (Dont stop taking your pro natal.) xx
