CBFM Question!!

Quick CBFM question for you! Successfully used it when conceiving dd after 2 cycles, and have started using it again now we're ttc again. My last 2 cycles were 39 and 40 days and this is the first cycle using it again. I got a high on cd 8 and was then expecting tonnes of them and no peak for the month whilst it got used to me (brand new cbfm as the old one got badly damaged), and then I got a peak on cd9 - surely this can't be right?? Do you think I'm getting lh surges and not actually ovulating yet? I've not really had any cm or ewcm to speak of (well, a tiny bit after number 2 (sorry)) x
