Books, a good film and crafts. Although I started doing crafts as a FB business and having a backlog of orders to do started to stress me out again, so I've cut right back on it now. I still like doing them for friends and family though.

If H and I are both wound up then we try to spend a nice day together. Even just going for a walk together. That helps me unwind the most.

Have you ever tried yoga? I find its a good way to relax and also helps tone up so is good exercise too. Other than that a nice long bath and a good book.x

I've heard that a holiday or even weekend away can help with relaxing.

I like doing crafts too but I think the best form of de-stressing is some exercise!  H and I went for a lovely long walk in the forest near us on Monday and it was so soothing to get out in the fresh air and get the heart rate up and i felt awesome afterwards :)

Thanks for all the replies x

God don't u just want to poke their eyes out when they tell you to relax! Or when they tell you that xs daughter relaxed whilst on holiday and conceived straight away! Well bulky for them!

For me I'd had a late TFMR, then 2 mc so there was no relaxing unfortunately! I just couldn't. I was still grieving for William, still angry about the mcs so I just could not relax. What I did was I just kind of three myself into Ttc, I got the cbfm and charted and in a weird way that settled me because I was doing all I could do iyswim.

My mother was the best one 'you just need to relax and itl happen' erm no! How will relaxing stop abnormalities or mc! Seriously just wanted to poke her eyes out when she kept in with that.

Even the cns at fertility clinic told me I needed to relax!! How on earth do you relax when even after drugs your body still won't play ball and work like it should. She told me I needed to give it time, time that we don't have as navy boy will deploy again in a couple of months. I'm do fed up and frustrated by the whole thing I feel like I'm going mad.

Thank you for sharing cp x

Hug crap isn't it. Although (I'm not saying this works) but mrs Claus and I had reflexology which chilled us out. Mrs c was on clomid (her last lot) and conceived and I conceived Isaac the month after I'm not saying that's what made us conceive, I just mean that it was a bit of a release iyswim.

Try to take the approach that you are doing all you can, that way you won't beat urself up about anything. You are on the drugs you are visiting the specialists, just be kind to yourself.

I know that my thing was age gaps, we had our ideal with L and W but W died so I could just see the age gap getting bigger and bigger and bigger, big hugs to you HugKiss

Recently I have discovered spa vouchers on groupon. Really helps me relax, and is much cheaper than the normal cost of spa treatments.

Aw NG. Being told to relax is crappy. And pointless!!

I've literally just got back from first session at gym with quite frankly the scariest instructor known to man. And as much as it hurt I forgot about everything for fifty mins - mainly because I was trying not to die!!

I've also had reflexology - that really helped me and I got pregnant a week after my last session - althought that could be a coincidence. Acupuncture is also supposed to be good. Am also doing some bits on the house. It's nice to have a project. More importantly I am booking a holiday. And I don't care how much mr Barclaycard gets hit!!

What I'd like to do - although would probably get arrested - is punch the people who told me to relax. That would really make me feel better!

Oh I cannot relax, I’m a nightmare. I just mope or cry or put myself in bed. Maybe I should try one of the things mentioned here.

There are some really good ideas here. When I've finished painting the bathroom I'm going to sit down and seriously look into some of them.

But perhaps if all of us just thumped the person who told us to relax they would get the hint!?! Xx

To relax I do things like read, go for a walk or go climbing. I also find facials quite relaxing, though massages I'm not too keen on. A coffee & chat with friends helps too. H likes to relax by doing exercise or watching films. I also plan, which makes me feel more in control.

I knit too Navy Girl. I also go to Pilates once a week and reflexology when stress gets on top of me. I've also been doing a lot more walking now the weather has brightened up a bit (?!). I like the idea of the Groupon vouchers-will be keeping a look out!

one of the things that is least likely to make you relax is people telling you to relax!!!!! lol

I exercise.  A lot.  I'm not particularly relaxed right enough so not sure if that really helps but I have quite a stressful job and recently there has been a string of personal disappointments that have had me super stressed out.

I like to catch up with tv and spend time with H - hes good at getting me to sit on my bum and take it easy.

I am a major stress head and find it so hard to relax even on weekends away/holidays. I recently started jogging (doing couch to 5k) and the difference in me is staggering. My heads much clearer, I'm more alert, more myself and can relax more (although not completely!).

I want to try yoga but would have to be a DVD as I don't had anyone to go with so would rather not do a class (I know I'm pathetic!) so can anyone recommend a good yoga DVD?

I tried meditation and that really did work but I didn't keep it up. Might get back into it.

    Xxx

Not tried your hand at jigsaws yet Browny? ;-)

You should definitely pick the meditation up again if you've already found it to work. Was it Meditation Oasis?

Browny have you tried Yogalates??  It's a fusion of yoga and Pilates and is pretty good

Looby - I bought a jigsaw for a date night and cooked a meal but I got bored of the jigsaw and h got well in to it so I was sat there whilst he did most of it lol. Yes it was meditation oasis I know I need to get back into it just need to do it lol. Do u do it every day or just when stressed?

Gillsy - no not heard of yogalates before - I have a Pilates DVD but its quite intense not relaxing at all! Can you recommend a DVD for it? X
