Could I be testing too soon?

I took two pregnancy tests last month both were negative. I missed my period completely last month and then on the 4th of January when I went to the restroom I wiped and there was blood resembling my period. I put on a pad but havent had any additional bleeding since that morning. I had mild cramps yesterday and have been feeling extremely tired for the last few weeks. I havent had any additional symptoms. Should I try testing again in a week or does it seem like I may not be pregnant?
