  • @Alannah786 positive opk isn't a proof of ovulation it just indication of lh spike, which triggers ovulation, but sometimes none of the eggs is ready and nothing is released, only was to confirm ovulation is blood test fit progesterone at 7dpo, ultrasound for corpus outrun or bbt tracking.

    @Jtk96 thank you, x
  • @MadDoda oh ok I did not know that! But I’m going to take a more relaxed approach this cycle and see how things go and if still unlucky will begin by tracking x
  • I meant bbt* tracking x
  • @Aliciab90 hi Hun! Thank you for thinking of me ❤️ I’m ok thanks, just over 7 weeks. Had my booking appointment at the weekend, hopefully they’ll arrange a scan soon. How are you doing? Xxx
  • @VRob123 shouldn't u haVe scan at 8 weeks?

@Alannah786 it's definitely worth trying relaxed approach but I don't think it's smth I could do. Control freak needs bbt haha, that's only thing I track anyway.
  • @MadDoda haha oh trust me I’m not sure how long this “relaxed” approach will last - I’ll be out buying a thermometer before AF is even over x 😂
  • Hi guys... trying to figure out something about when I ovulate and was wanting some advice, since ttc#2 from october after 7 years on the pill my cycles have been 28 days, 30 days then 32 days, do I base the app on 32 days for this month? I got a positive opk on friday (the app said ovulation on sat) do you usually get AF 2 weeks after this or is it 2 weeks from ovulation? Just trying to figure out when I can expect (or hopefully not expect) AF... xx
  • @Positivevibes20 hiya I may be wrong but I believe AF is usually 2 weeks from ovulation x

@Positivevibes20 I always say it and I will say it again, apps predictions are just guesses and are useless in Most ppl. Ur cycle consists of two phases, folicular which is variable in length and luteal which is after ovulation until ur af and is always the same, may vary only by a day +/- or occasionally 2. Average lp is 14 days, but if u don't know how long is urs u can't predict anything. Normally ovulation is your lp length before af. So in average 14 days before af. If ur cycle vary in length 28-32 days, than ur ovulation based on average 14 days lp can be between cd13-19, If ur lp is of different length then numbers totally change. So if u use opk ur best way is to estimate ur lp length, example check when u got peak next day is ov, following day 1dpo, if u got af at 15 dpo then ur lp should be around 14 days +/-1.

Thank you, I got a positive opk on Friday and was still positive on Saturday, I am just concerned that in that case if ovulation didnt actually take place until sat/sunday my cycle this month will be even longer and wonder is this why I am missing ovulation by predicting it each month going by the last month length? And would it be possible to ovulate a few days after a positive opk?xx

@Positivevibes20 u ovulate within 48+/- hours from positive opk I think, and it's very individual, some girls to overnight after opk some two days after, u would have to do bbt to confirm that. Which CD were u on ur first peak day? As for average for now I would assume u ovulated on Saturday. If u do opk u will not miss ur ov x

I was on CD19 when I got the first positive opk, which means if I ovulated on the saturday my cycle length this month would be 33 days, does this matter in terms of ovulation maybe i am not ovulating until later than i think? If going by my app which has been quite accurate putting in a 33 days cycle means I ovulated on Monday? Sorry so confusing xx
  • @Positivevibes20 if u had positive opk at cd19 u ovulated cd20 so if ur lp is 14 days ur af would be due at cd35, so cycle length 34 days. It doesn't matter, and opk is good enough to catch the egg, as long as u ovulate, which u probably do but can't be sure without tests or bbt.
  • @Positivevibes20 forget what app suggests u. Go by opk and estimate af by lp length, not cycle length.

Thank you for your advice really appreciate just trying to work out from the previous 2 cycles what the lp was and go from there for this month xx
  • @Positivevibes20 tell me at what CD u had first peak opk in those cycles and at what CD of arrived and I will help you. You should change app for one which considers all aspects not just cycle length. Fertility friend is great for bbt, but it can be used without it too, it's very smart coz it's analyses all ur cycles and put all ur data together. So it estimates ur first cycle by the length u input, give u standard fertile window as other apps do, but when u input opk it adjusts ur cycle accordingly to ur ovulation, in next cycle it considers when u ovulated last time and adjusts ur fertile window to that as well as cycle length, then again u input opk and it adjusts. The next time it considers data from both previous cycles, so it gathers ur cycle length lp length and ovulation dates from all cycle and is getting more and more accurate. That's why I like it so much. X

Great will look into fertility friend.. Nov it was peak at CD17 af at CD31 Dec was peak at CD17 af at CD33, this month i didnt get a peak until CD19 x
  • @Positivevibes20 from that I would say ur lp is 13days+/-1 , but it's very little to be sure. Good start tho, so I would assume af Max at 15dpo this cycle,  u are about 3dpo today, x
  • @MadDoda thank you for all your help xx
