Looking for advice about trying again and the pill

So I know y’all have seen me post before but super confused right now and looking for some help. Me and my husband lost our identical twin girls at 19 weeks. I went to OB today for check up after. It’s been four weeks. She said everything looks good and as soon as I have a cycle we can start trying again. I havebbeen super crampy the past two week but no period. She gave me birth control to take if I wanted to to reset my body? I don’t want to take it bc I feel like we’re going backwards, and don’t want to take it for a whole month. Would it be possible for me to take for like a week in a half or two weeks then take the period pills and me start? Or would I need to take it longer? Someone please help!
