  • Trying for our first too ♡

We both turned 30 this year.
  • @Bonnie1983 I wish I knew! It’s an anxious time for sure.
I haven’t told my family, I’d find them too intense I think if it wasn’t happening. I’ve told two close friends and they’re great about it, excited for us but not overpowering. I’d find it hard telling too many people month after month that it wasn’t a successful month.
  • @SP28 exactly and although people mean well, if you're struggling to nail timing etc then it's hard to keep upbeat. Also another reason I dont do pregnancy tests (unless I think I am) seeing repeated negatives isnt good for the soul xxx

    Me too
    but hubby is 35
  • So I have two children already, both were conceived my first cycle. I’m now on cycle 5 ttc my 3rd child. I’m not used to this “trying”, but I’m so glad to have you lovely ladies along with me for the ride ❤️ I’m also in my 30s now (33). My first two kids were conceived when I was in my late 20s. Wondering if that makes a big difference?
For sure, maternal age has one of the biggest impacts on fertility.  Egg quality degrades as we get older, but that simply means it might take you a little longer to ‘catch’ with a good egg in your thirties, compared to when in your twenties.  That said, don’t be discouraged too much by the doom and gloom brigade who throw women’s fertility off a cliff after age 35!  The average age of women who choose to have babies continuously until their bodies naturally stop conceiving, is 46!!

I naturally conceived my daughter when I was nearly 38, and it happened only 6 days after we decided to start trying on our first cycle.  We only BDed 3 times before I caught!  So us old girls still have it in us!  However, babe No.2 hasn’t been nearly so easy!  It’s taken 2 and a half years, a frustrating and useless diagnosis of ‘unexplained  secondary infertility‘, 2 miscarriages and 2 rounds of IVF, to finally get my very promising BFP, at age 43!

On the other hand, this is purely anecdotal evidence, but just about all my female friends who have chosen to have children, have naturally conceived at least one child in their early 40s.  And really, no one is shocked to hear of a woman conceiving in their forties, it’s pretty commonplace these days.  For some, it just happens more easily/quickly than others.  Keep the faith!  Especially if you’ve conceived naturally and easily previously. X

  • @KristinO1987 ahhh that would be great, you can bug me whenever 😄. I've not told anyone asides my mum that I'm ttc again. I was trying with another donor last year with no luck. It's good to be able to talk to ladies on here. When family and friends know you're ttc they ask more questions which can become stressful especially if nothing is happening :(
Is everyone confiding in their friends and family about ttc??💜
I‘ve only told two close friends about TTC and IVF.  We haven’t told our families anything (they only know we’d like another child ‘at some point‘).  We just didn’t want the added pressure or expectations, or judgement.  Especially with IVF, when everyone you tell ends up knowing your exact treatment and test dates.  I just don’t want to feel obligated to announce each result, each failure, or even each success, until I feel ready to do so.
  • Hi Ladies, jumping on here  as although I seem to be 13 or 14dpo I have had very irregular cycles lately so not going to test until after the Flo app says my period is due - 1st Dec.
Did have a little bit of spotting on Friday which is a first but nothing since then and no other obvious symptoms apart from a little bit of cramping.

I’m also in the TTC  baby #1 in early 30s club. Been over a year though so totally understand what some you are going through.  Been referred to a fertility specialist but decided to wait til next year before making an appt.

I’m hoping there will be lots of Xmas miracle BFPs on here to read about in Dec 🤞🏻

    Girl don’t wait for fertility
they do a lot of testing before starting treatment
  • @Bonnie1983 I know what you mean. It is stressful when people know. I was expecting to be in my second trimester by now with my track record 😅 I told most of my closer friends that we are ttc again, but I think only a few probably remember. No one is hugging me about it, I just bug myself 😩
  • Thank you @KiwiMoomin😘 it is easy to become disheartened when things are different. My husband and I both understand that if it is God’s will, it will happen. He hasn’t said anything, but I’m wondering if he’s wondering why the heck I’m not pregnant yet or if it’s just my ttc anxiety 😩
  • @KiwiMoomin omg that's so true about the after 35 thing. DR Google has you on the scrap heap from 35 and I dont pay attention now but last year I did with my last donor. Its true about the quality and natural decline. I also was told by my acupuncturist that some months women in their late 30's and up may not ovulate every month, despite what a test says so yes, these things can take time. With my donor last year it was frustrating because he was based in london and It was a commute to get there once a month and I wasnt catching :(. This donor I've just started with is just the right amount of local so I can cover as many days as possible:). My donor from.last year helped other women and they were all in their 40's so also something in that. Congrats on your 2nd. 43 isnt old! You're smashing it 💪💜🤩
  • @KristinO1987 oh deffo, I'm my own worst enemy in this. If it doesnt work immediately or ever I'll 100% blame myself...even if its noones fault you know🙄🙈.  I think if theres no luck this month we should all try and focus on having a good xmas 🤩🤩. Win win xxx
  • Morning ladies it will def happen when meant to be I'm 37 and trying for my 4th

Ohhh I hope so too. Yes I was trying last year with a donor who lived about 2 hours away so I never caught sadly. The whole process can be very hard and beyond emotional.
Have you and your other half had any fertility testing so far??
