Faint line yesterday, negative today

I’m a week overdue so I did a clear blue yesterday and think I had a very very light blue line but today I’ve bought an early bird test and it’s negative. I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks last year and my “kids” are now 23 and 21 so it’s been a long time since I’ve had a successful pregnancy. If I’m a week overdue surely the tests would be clear and accurate now? Maybe I’m just seeing the line because I’m so desperate to be pregnant before I hit menopause... any advice is very welcome xx
