Spotting in early pregnancy

Hi I was wondering if anyone had spotting during the first 12 weeks? It's been 5 weeks since my last period but I haven't done a test yet. This is because I have pco so waiting to see if period is just late. I had spotting the other day but it was when I went to the toilet. Did this happen to anyone else?
