Readybrek at 6m?

Our son has been weaning since 17w and getting on great. The HV said on Friday we can start giving him Readybrek rather than baby porridge. I noted salt was "trace" and couldnt find sugar on the Asda's own brand.

Anyone got experience of giving a 6m old readybrek?

  • Hey, we started weaning dd at 24 weeks and when having porridge only ever had ready brek or normal oats. I'm not a fan of baby food products they are over priced and not always better for babies. she loves ready brek which on hv advise I make with whole cows milk. She also loves weetabix if you haven't tried it. DD is now 34 weeks and we haven't had any problems touch wood.

  • Thanks for the reply. C doesnt seem keen on weetabix tbh but I will retry him on them. Just wanted to see what others had given and whether it had gone down well.

  • Readybrek was fab for my little girl - but she eventually came to love Weetabix (my other kid won't touch it!!!). The baby cereals are a total rip off!
