Weaning equipment - what's essential?

Hi all,

I'm starting to think about weaning and I want to know what is essential if I'm looking at doing a mix of BLW and puree?

As money is more precious, I only want to invest in what I really need.

My Lo is EBF and won't take bottleas as a bit of extra information.

Thanks

  • I would suggest you get some basic spoons - Tommee Tippee did lovely soft and small spoons - so i'd recommend those ones.

Ice cube trays for freezing purees. No need for fancy ones.

Little pots with lids (got mine at Asda - they are ace) - if you do some batch cooking, these are invaluable - i still use mine for freezing portions of my girls food.

And a blender - a hand blender - no need for a specific baby blender, any one will do.

So i'd start with the purees and introduce new tastes slowly, but also fingers of toast and butter, soft carrot sticks, etc

Oh, and a really good food catching bib!!!! Be prepared for mess, choking, more mess, and loads of washing - top tip - don't feed your baby while they are wearing their best clothes!
