Talkback: Family law review could see dads denied right to see children

Before having my kids I worked as a family lawyer and think this whole story is misleading.

A change in wording a child having a 'meaningful relationship' with both parents might score political points but wouldn't actually make any difference to how the courts rule day to day.

As the law stands the court's guiding principle is the child's welfare and in most cases that necessitates them having contact with both parents anyway.
