Faint positive but light bleeding and had period a week ago...

hiya looking for some advice here we have been trying for a baby for a while now and I've suffered miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy, I had my period at its usual time of the month this month and it finished a week ago, but yesterday I started lightly spotting when wiping, woke this morning to pelvic pain and went to a&e they said highly unlikely of a pregnancy and sent me on my way, me being the person I am had to check for myself and bought home pregnancy test and i got a faint positive, never experienced this before and feel quite confused and out of sorts, is there any advice or own stories similar to mine that have a happy ending? Xx
