Would really appreciate any advice

Hi all,

Sorry for gatecrashing - I dont really belong here but also feel a bit out on a limb with the TTCers with the ovulation & 2ww etc...

Basically I have only had around 5 or 6 real (ie non pill) periods in my life. Last time I came off the pill I didnt have one for 11 months until I went back on the pill again.

We have been ttcing for 5 months and again no periods. I really dont think I ovulate, no pains or ewcm etc. Temp has stayed the same for 5 months.

Anyway had a scan and blood test done, scan shows lots of cysts, bloods were clear. Which obviously was good news, but now docs have said that they cant do anything for another year at which point I can have more tests

Just feel in limbo - whats the point of even trying when I know nothing can happen? Feels so frustrating and a waste of time.

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has any advice?

Thanks

    Hi Hun,

I was in similar position, bloods clear, but found lots of cysts on scan, I was sent for follow up scan six weeks later and referred to a fertility clinic. I've been put on clomid, due to the number of cysts on my ovaries, so I dont understand why they are telling you there is nothing they can do - I would go and see a different GP and tell them that you want to be referred to a gynae, GP's are not specialists in the area so they shouldnt be taking it upon themselves to tell you there is nothing they can do. Normally they tell you to wait for a year or more before they refer you to a fertility clinic if they can't find anything wrong, but as they have found something wrong I really dont understand their reasoning.

Sorry if that isn't any help - let me know how you get on.

Thanks MrsAd! Its just so frustrating. She just kept saying that I am really young (25) so it doesnt matter if it takes ages! Well it matters to me you silly woman!!!

Whereabouts do you live? I wonder if its another one of these regional things!

Fingers crossed for you on Clomid - heard loads of great things about it!

If its any help (not in a great way, though), I was told by my gynae that if cysts are present aand you are not having periods, it is unlikely that you are ovulating.

I don't quite understand why they are saying you have to wait a year, seems a random amount? I was referred after ttc for 8 months (originally!).

I would say go back to see another Dr.

    Good Luck xx
