Clicky Baby

Hi Ladies. Just wanted to know if anyone else is having the same thing with their LO's?
It might just be her growing, but I'm not sure whether I should get her checked over by the HV or not.
Lily is very very clicky and I just wanted to know if this was normal. Her arms, legs, ankles, back etc.
I am very clicky also, but I've been that way for years and it's probably lack of calcium and iron on my part as I have a terrible diet. Should I get Lily checked over, or is this normal? x :\?

    hi mel
PLEASE get her checked out - not wishing to worry you - its prob abs nothing, but there is something called 'clicky hips' - its familiar term and is perfectly treatable but needs to be caught early. there should be tests done at birth but these are often missed or problem isnt found then anyway

if you take her to your gp and explain your worries and ask for her to be checked for this then they will know what you are talking about

Private message me if you like - i am normally in born in aug but i was due in july so sometimes 'pop' in here!!

Hiya. Yeah I'm going to get her booked in as soon as the doctor is back at work. She's not been so bad recently. And It might be because I'm double jointed and click all the time. Will get her checked anyways. xx

amelia is like this too, but me and both my sisters are double jointed so this is where she gets it from, apparently, and its an hireditry(sp).

How did lily get on? xx

Hey! I didnt take her in the end. I spoke to my mum about it, whos a registered child nurse and she said its most likely because I'm double jointed. It hasnt been much of a problem recently, so if it gets bad again I'll take her to see the doctor just to get a second opinion.( not that I dont trust my mums judgment haha) xx

Alfie had clicky hips when he was born. He had to go to the specialist who said that there is no concern when a child's joints click, it is when they grind that you should worry, so we were sent home. His bones do click, it is mainly his shoulder but we've been told a few times it is nothing at all to worry about and that it is just normal. Nobody in our family are double jointed, so I think most babies do click a bit when they move. It never ever seems to hurt him though or even bother him. I'd be concerned if he showed any sign of discomfort.

    Hope this helps you

Yeah she doesnt seem bothered by it at all. She pulls a funny face afterwards though if she see's me looking concerned, but then laughs at me. Nothing to worry about here. x
