A bit worried...

Ok girls, i'm probably really over reacting, but i'm just a bit concerned that something may not be quite right. Before I go ringing the midwife, I just want to check if anyone else has experienced the same thing or similar.

I'm worried I'm going to sound completely OTT here, but here goes....

Im 23 weeks and 6 days today and this week I have been ridiculously tired. I'm not sure if it's normal to feel this tired past the first trimester so I just keep panicking and thoughts of gestational diabetes or anaemia keep popping into my head. :? :? :?

I'm a teacher, but only work Monday to Thursday, but have a pretty hectic schedule, this week I have barley been able to keep my eyes open. Wednesday night I fell asleep at 8pm waking at 9am (was late for work imageimageimage ) and last night I got home and literally went straight to bed at 6.30 p.m waking at 8.30 am???

I feel a bit muggy headed too, sort of the feeling you get when your just getting rid of a heavy cold too!!!

I know I am probably making a fuss over nothing, but this is unusual behaviour for me and I just have a nagging feeling something is not quite right!?!

Any ideas girlies, or can someone please slap me and tell me to stop over reacting!!!! LOL

Try not to worry, this is all so normal for pregnancy, I could sleep all day if I could get away with it and even then I'd still be tired! The baby has a massive growth spurt from weeks 20-24/5. I'm now 27 weeks and still as shattered as the beginning! If you are concerned though, talk to your MW when you are next there xx

snap, i had a break of maybe 6 weeks and now im exhausted again at 26weeks. How do u sleep at night, as i know me being tired is because i dont sleep well from either getting up to jack, going to the loo 20 times or just cant get comfy.

maybe try taking some vitamins like pregnacare, if its something like anemia they will help, might give u a little energy boost aswell.

dont worry though, all part of pregnancy.

I would say everything is completely fine and everything you have said sounds completely normal. I am not quite as far on as you ladies, I am 23 weeks tomorrow, but I could quite happily sleep for days, am confused, disorientated, have an appalling memory... I was exactly the same with DS too. It will never do you any harm to call the midwife and talk through how you are feeling though, if you want reassurance. That's what we have been paying our NI contributions for so don't ever feel like you can't call. Hugs, and hope you feel brighter soon xx

Totally normal hun me thinks. The groggy feeling & everything. I ALWAYS in bed by 9pm & even then i'm hanging on sometimes just to feel like I actually have a life!

Turns out I was anaemic in my last pregnancy - they will prob pick this up in blood tests if you are too.

I had tablets after the birth but nothing before so I did research & ate lots of leafy greens & red meant & drunk fresh orange juice as this helps your body asborb iron.

If I were PM mat leave would start on Day 1 of pregnancy.

    zzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!

Sounds perfectly normal to me, just another one of the joys of growing a small human being!

But if your concerned give your midwife a call. Make sure your eating and drinking plenty though.

I will get back on the pregnacare I think and also ask my midwife at my appointment next thursday to check for anaemia!!! Just so glad it seems normal!!!

I think i'm eating enough too, I'm actually worried i'm over eating lol, I have already put 9kg/19lb on- which seems alot???

    I'm tall though, 5'8" and I weighed 9 stone 7 at my first appointment- now I'm 11stone 3. Is that O.K?

The weight gain seems fine to me as you were quite slim to begin with! I've probably put on similar but i'm too scared to weigh myself!!

Sounds like normal pregnancy tiredness plus being a teacher and on your feet all day! I was teaching during my first pregnancy and it is exhausting!

As the others have said get checked out for anemia. I think they do it anyway with your 28 week blood tests. x

Sounds normal to me, i'm 24 weeks and beyond exhausted and this week is even worse coz i'm sick with a stupid cold/flu thing so cant sleep solidly enough !

Never hurts to check anemia though as its pretty common in pg, I had it with Charlotte. Just out your feet up and snooze as much as possible, if it wasnt for my little toddler madam i'd be in bed right now but as she hasnt napped i'm hoping to put her to bed at 6pm instead of 7pm and get an early night !

I'm going to get my midwife to do a check on my iron levels when I go on Thursday!! Hopefully everything will be fine!! Think I just need to learn to put my feet up and let my hubby do the running around after me!!! Hehehe xxx
