Bleeding 5 days before next cycle?

About a week and a half ago I started feeling odd. I've had many symptoms of pregnancy like the ones I had the last time I was pregnant. I feel like I am pregnant but it is too early to take a pregnancy test. I am supposed to get my period on the 1st of the month, and it never comes early or late. This morning when I woke up, the first thing I did was use the bathroom and when I wiped, there was a light pink fluid on the tissue. I did some research and came across implantation bleeding. As the day has progressed the fluid is now dark red-brown and slightly heavier. My period is normally extremely heavy the first 2 days, and not comparable to this. I am still having cramps and bleeding a light/normal amount and it is consistently brown/dark red. Is this normal for pregnancy? Or should I be expecting my cycle??? I don't know what to think!!
