Positive Pregnancy test 5 weeks after loss at 21 weeks

edited Oct 9, 2019 4:15AM in Trying to conceive
Hi ladies,

I lost my twin girls at 21 weeks due to TTTS 5 weeks ago. I gave birth to them naturally. I bled for around 10 days and then on and off until 10-12 days ago.
we've been sexually active since around 2 weeks after giving birth and for the past 5 days i've been feeling very "pregnant".

I thought i do a test yesterday just to see where things were at and it was a positive test. I did one again this morning and again it was positive. It's a faint line but you can tell it's there.

I've also had some light bleeding last 3 days only when i wipe and no cramps at all.

I'm very confused. Is this my BFP? could i really be pregnant?

@MadDoda....correct me if im wrong but this could still be left over HCG

Hmmm could be. I’ve been reading all sorts of things about hcg online. Some say it comes back to zero once the placenta is out, others say it stays in your system for few weeks. Not sure what to think really :/

just wait a few days n take it again but dont get ur hopes up if the line gets darker then ur pregnant if it doesnt then its just the hcg leaving ur body

It is very likely hcg residue, even if placenta is out, there is still time still circulating on ur blood and being filtered out as waste to urine. U always need to confirm hcg is gone after mc coz u can't ovulate until mc is gone. There is a chance it is a new pregnancy. I suggest to retest with frer or go to dr for blood tests.

I'm so sorry for your loss I can't imagine the pain you are going through, I had three mcs but only at early stages.
