settling baby

  Hi everyone, i have a 9 day old baby who wont settle in his crib, we have tried everything, we have waited until he is asleep and put him in there and he wakes up, we've tried settling him after a fed and nothing, i hate hearing him crying and don't know how else to settle him, does anyone have any ideas?

  thanks Helen, he hates having his arms covered but i mite try a moses basket and the heart beat thing sounds good xx
