Mixing Milk

Hi can anyone tell me whether it is allowed for a baby to be fed mixed milk. i.e a formula one time and breastmilk another. Someone said to me that they couldn't get into breastfeeding at the hospital, so used bottle milk. But when they got home they were more comfortable and started breastfeeding. is this ok? Can it be done long term?
Thanks
Gill

I mix fed with no problems but I would wait a few weeks to let your milk come in. I bf my baby, and bottle fed both expressed and formula, It really helped as my husband fed her at the night feed and we also gave her hungry baby milk before bed which helped her sleep through the night. I recommed the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles as she had no probs switching. Good luck.
