Late miscarriage

Hello all,

I've registered here after a very traumatic experience. My partner and I lost our baby at 20 weeks gestation. She had severe spina bifida and would've had a very painful , limited life had she gone to term. We spent three days in hospital waiting for her birth and have just arrived home feeling devastated for our tiny daughter.

I'm now facing up to the practicalities , I'm due back at work in two weeks and need to get signed off in order to recover from the birth. In the uk prior to 24 weeks it's a late miscarriage , not a stillbirth so it's sick leave I have to seek from my employer , I work with children with disabilities and additional needs so it's also an emotive issue. 

I'm truly sorry if any of you have suffered loss also but need advice. What did your doctor do for you in this situation and how much time off did you require/take.
