Br'feeding after a General Anaesthetic

Hiya

I'm due to have an operation on Monday and I just wondered if anyone had any
experience with this, because I was told different things about when I could feed afterwards.
Information I've found on line also varies. So I was hoping someone could
share firsthand.

Thanks x x x

hiya, i don't know if it's different, but i had a general anaesthetic when i had my baby (it was an emergency c-section) and i was encouraged to have skin to skin and try to latch my baby on as soon as i came around, and breast fed him straight away. good luck with your op xxx

I was put under a General when dd was 7mths old. Prior to op I was told 24hrs before I feed again but then when I met the anaesthatist (sp?) on the day he said I could feed straight away.
I fed my daughter 2hrs after coming round and neither of us had any strange effects from it

Thank you so much for you're replies. Once I came out of my pre op
appointment I told my mum I was confused as the nurse had said I needed to wait longer than the consultant had said. I told her I'd ask
the experts and I'm glad I did.

    Thanks again!!! x x x
