Any advice on moving from breast to bottle? (Also in baby)

Hi there,

We've decided to make the switch from breast to bottle as bf just not working for us. The midwife advised doing alternate formula/breast feeds which is obviously causing me to balloon between the bf's and be mightily uncomfortable. Does anyone have any advice as to how it worked for you?

Many Thanks

Clare

Hi, i had the same problems and what i did was cut out my evening and night feed and fed during day, within about 3 days my body had got used to that and i didnt need to express. Beware if you keep expressing it will still produce so go as long as you can with it being uncomfy before you express and watch out for mastitis. alternate feeding is prob better as ur boobs with 'deflate' quicker i think!and just try not to express too often!it is so uncomy, i remember it feeling like when ur milk first comes in but it does go quite quick.Hope tnhat helps.xx
