Can cows milk cause my 1 year old to wake in the night?

Hello.

My little girl has been sleeping through since she was 10 weeks old from 7pm until 7am, she has never once woke in the night. She was 1 two weeks ago and I started her on cows milk but just in a morning with her porridge.  Last week I started giving it her on a night instead of formula and ever since she has started waking once or twice a night screaming and will not settle until she has had a bottle.  She can have anything from 8oz to 16oz depending on if she wakes once or twice.  The Health Visitor said to leave her to cry as she will end up getting into a habit of eating in the night.  I tried this and after 3 hours of her being awake and upset I gave in and she really was hungry!  Once fed she always goes straight back over.  She eats same as she always has during a day.

I was wondering if putting her on cows milk has caused this or is it just coincidence?  Could it be a massive growth spurt and should I maybe start giving her supper?

Any help is appreciated.

No, cow milk is not at all a cause of this. There might be some other reason for which your child is waking up in the night because my elder sister is also using cow milk for her son who is of 18 months but he is not having such problem. So, I think you should consult with any child specialist.
