old man name ideas
Yep me again with another name thread!!!
We have a short list at the moment and ive decided I really like the old man names. There is a line though between cool and funky old man names and ones which really shouldnt be brought back in though I think.
On our list we have theodore, arthur, george, casper and dexter (I realise the last 2 arent old man names!). We have also discovered Stanley ehich we both like snd H loves Hector although I dont.
what other cool old man names have you come across??? There must be more but lists aren't inspiring us!!

Aaron is a bible name so old. He can be ron when he is older haha. Hamish?bertie? I love dexter
We have Edgar and Wilfred on our very short shortlist
Angus
Alfred, Leslie, Reginald, Stanley, Albert, Wilbur, Leonard.
Not all my style, although I like Alfred and Albert. Oh, I also like Edgar and Edmund.
I've taught an Albert, Barnarby, Stanley and a Miles, though I'm not sure if the latter is an old man name. I'll have a think for more names.
Gilbert
Nathaniel
Redmond
Emmett
Wade
Willard
Miles
Laurence/Laurie
Cooper
Lambert
Phineas
Edwin
Reid
Casper

....are our reserve list, some are definite No's and some are Maybe's.
I love angus but feel like you need to be scottish to use it, we arent at all!! Albert (bertie)is one weve talked about but dont love as much as our list. We cant really have anything that starts Ed.... as we've got 2 Edwards in the family already.
Keep them coming ladies!! DS I only teach girls which is both helpful and unhelpful for names!!!
I love Arthur, albert (shortened to either albie or bertie), George- all I can think of at the mo, will have a think and return
Ted is on our list of names x
Also thought of Wilfred, Godfrey, Geoffrey, Hugo and Humbert.
We were going to use Sidney but had a last minute change of mind!
If we have a boy he will be Theodore (known as Ted). It has been our boys name of choice for many years.
I also love, Angus, Miles, Oscar and Monty (although H vetoed this!)
Rupert? Too much a bear's name? Peter, John, Bill, Gene, Clint,
Oh I love rupert and reuban
Victor, Frank, Humphrey, Milton, Frederick, Mortimer, Wilbur (love this one)
Walter, Joseph, Alfred (Freddie? Alf?) Archie, Charles.
Arthur and Stanley are on our list :-)
Other old names I like are Reuben, Archie, Alfred (Fred/Freddie/Al), Gene, Louie, Leonard (Leo/Leon/Lenny), Sidney, Albert (Bertie)..though obviously not an option for us.
We so need a grandparents/great grandparents name thread again! ;-)
Arthur, Archie, Stanley, Theodor, Vincent, Reggie, Gerald, Sidney.
Ronnie (having seen Reggie! haha!), Raef...
